Lake Cumberland Church of the Nazarene - A home for your heart . . .
This week we will commemorate Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the season of Lent—the 40 day period which precedes Holy Week and the celebration of Easter.
This season of penitence and self-restraint has been observed by the church since apostolic times and predates Roman Catholicism.

It is a time to reflect upon the humility and sacrifice of Christ and to offer our deepest devotion to Him.  The people of God have traditionally observed Lent by some form of fasting and self-denial, symbolizing  “taking up our own cross.”

How will you deny yourself this lenten season - observing the ancient tradition and participating with our spiritual ancestors?
