Lake Cumberland Church of the Nazarene - A home for your heart . . .
God Enjoys Us!
by Aletha Hinthorn

When Mary asked her granddaughter what she could buy for her on their shopping trip, the little girl responded, "Nothing, Nana, I just wanted to be with you." Sometimes we need to come to God without requests but simply wanting to be with Him. God delights in us when we desire the joy of being near Him.

God is looking for worshipers. We tend to approach Him as though He's looking for workers, but our heavenly bridegroom is wooing a bride, not hiring a servant. He values our prayer and communion more than our labor and sacrifice.
Amazingly, it seems that our fellowship with Him is first of all for His pleasure! He enjoys us!

Enjoy Him!

"For the Lord's portion is
His people"
(Deuteronomy 32:9).

"Then will I go to the altar
of God, to God, my joy
and my delight"
(Psalm 43:4).

"I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices
in my God"
(Psalm 61:10).

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"
(Philippians 4:4).

"I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure"
(Psalm 16:8-9)

I praise You, dear Lord, for offering to me the joy of Your fellowship!
